PIGBAITTA
A game-changer in feral pig management!
PIGBAITTA is an Australian owned feral pig specific bait delivery device, designed to be used with either 1080 or sodium nitrate baits. Engineered and manufactured in Australia by Sonnex, each PIGBAITTA is constructed with fully galvanised and recyclable Australian steel with a 10 year structural warranty. It is the result of six years of research and trials, and we believe it will be a game changer in the control of feral pigs in Australia on a broader scale.
The History of PIGBAITTA
Barry Kelly has spent the last 15 years being involved in award-winning feral pig projects, and through this experience he saw the ways other baiting systems were lacking. After six years of research and trials, the PIGBAITTA was created. Tailored specifically for feral pigs, the PIGBAITTA was also designed with the needs and requirements of local landholders in mind.
What’s a PIGBAITTA?
PIGBAITTA is a feral pig specific bait delivery device that can be used with either 1080 or sodium nitrite baits. Developed, engineered, and manufactured entirely in Australia, each PIGBAITTA is constructed with fully recyclable, galvanised Australian steel with a 10 year structural warranty.
Built-in Baiting System:
Feral pigs don’t like change and can become suspicious if a new device is suddenly installed in the area. Unlike other products, the PIGBAITTA’S built-in baiting system means that the delivery method doesn’t need to change when switching to baiting. Feral pigs can get familiar with the PIGBAITTA over the training period, gradually getting accustomed to using their snout to access the grain. When it’s time to switch to baited feed, the built-in system ensures minimal disruption to the site; this prevents the pigs from becoming too suspicious to take the bait.
Feral Pig Specific:
The PIGBAITTA was designed to appeal to feral pigs’ instinctual feeding methods, while also protecting livestock and native fauna. Because pigs naturally use their snout to ‘root’ or dig for food, they instinctively use these movements to lift the bar of the PIGBAITTA to get to the feed inside. Stock animals and native fauna don’t share these inherent instincts, and the angle and shape of the PIGBAITTA encourages them into searching for other sources of food. This allows landholders to specifically target the feral pigs in their area, without putting other animals at risk.
